The new moorVMS-VASC 2.0 is a vascular monitoring system consisting typically of moorVMS-VASC software, moorVMS-LDF and moorVMS PRES / moorVMS-HEAT modules and is designed for non-invasive assessment of micro-vascular blood flow in response to standard (and custom) pressure cuff inflation protocols.

The system combines a blood flow monitor with an automatic cuff control system and new user friendly clinical software. This functionally combined system from Moor enables clinical and research users to simplify the implementation of a wide range of vascular tests including:

  • Toe Blood Pressure (TBP)
  • Skin Perfusion Pressure (SPP)
  • Post Occlusive Reactive Hyperaemia (PORH)
  • Pulse Volume Recording (PVR)
  • Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI)
  • NEW! Angiosome Guided SPP enables up to four simultaneous SPP measurements on the Angiosomes of the Ankle and Foot for improved revascularisation targeting.
  • NEW! Treadmill Exercise Protocol with results for pre/post exercise ABPI or TBPI. Pain events during and immediately after the exercise can also be documented.
  • Define your own unique test or sequence of tests or use pre-programmed test(s).

Multi-functional:

The moorVMS-VASC system has been specifically designed to aid micro vascular assessments in a variety of physiological research and clinical applications. The user friendly software can be used for single tests or any combination of tests according to your study requirements. This multi-functional system is easily configured enabling you to save user selected and defined test sequences or alternatively perform single tests of your choice. A range of tests are available and the software makes these simple to set-up, customise and perform. The display of data is clear and uncluttered. Reports are available in several customisable formats enabling you to display what you need. Why should you choose the moorVMS-VASC system?

USER FRIENDLY INTERFACE – clinical software for standard vascular assessments helps ease workflow and saves set up time. The system is also available with a touchscreen PC (optional).

CUSTOMISABLE – fully flexible protocols allows the user to easily perform customised single tests or sets of test. Save custom test sequences for use on other patients.

CUFF RANGE and DUAL CUFF ADAPTOR – A range of different cuff sizes are available to suit your needs to occlude individual digits up to an adult thigh. Your own cuffs can also be used if preferred. NEW! Dual Cuff adaptor to allow two cuffs to be connected to one moorVMS PRES monitor.

EASY TO PERFORM TESTS – speeds up the test sequence and enables standardised test sequences to be performed on multiple occasions. Protocol prompting reminds you if you need to change cuff or probe positioning as part of the test.

DATA EXPORT AND REPORTING – Data obtained from the tests you perform, in addition to the patient database, is easily and fully transferable from the moorVMS-VASC software into other software packages for analysis (e.g. Excel).

PORTABILITY – A fully portable system on the optional clinical cart (as shown) with optional touchscreen PC. The cart comes equipped with an isolation transformer and provides convenient housing and mobility of monitors, PC interface and probes whilst improving portability between locations (ward/clinic/lab etc).

STABILITY – Exceptional measurement stability as verified by monthly calibration checks.

MEMORY CHIP PROBES – A range of laser Doppler probes are available for skin and under cuff assessments. A memory chip within the probe stores calibration constants and reminds you if calibration is needed.

This section lists the more common questions our customers have with regards to the moorVMS-VASC. If you have a question you would like answered that does not appear below then please email us. We are happy to help!

Q. What tests can I perform with moorVMS-VASC?
A. The moorVMS-VASC enables single tests, or combinations of tests (multi-tests) to be performed. These can include: Toe and/or Limb Blood Pressure, Toe and/or Limb brachial pressure Index (TBPI ABPI), Skin Perfusion Pressure (SPP), Pulse Volume (PV), Post Occlusion Reactive Hyperaemia (PORH). The user friendly software enables you to customise and standardise your test or sequence of tests, helping your team to ensure tests performed follow a standard protocol for your facility/institution.

Q. Is the system easy to use?
A. The new software has been designed with a new user friendly interface and although flexibility is maintained the software is clear, straight forward and intuitive to use whist maintaining comprehensive clinical and research functionality.

Q. Can the trace be analysed and exported?
A. Yes. Report templates are available to simplify and automate the process. Data can also be easily exported for further processing in proprietary software packages. A patient database is included to organise and manage numerous monitoring sessions.

Q. Is the system easy move from ward to clinic to lab?
A. The system can be made fully portable by using the optional clinical cart. The cart comes equipped with an isolation transformer. Additionally the cart allows for housing of the moorVMS-VASC monitors, probes and accessories and a touchscreen PC (optional extra). This complete system enables easy portability from the ward to research facility to vascular lab and other areas where vascular testing is performed.

Q. Can I define my own set of tests in the order I want?
A. Yes, flexibility and ease of use has been at the forefront of development of the moorVMS-VASC system. There is option of defining, and saving, numerous test sequences to suit your needs. Simply load and select the specific test sequence as and when required.

Q. Do you have a range of cuff sizes available?
A. Yes, a range of cuff sizes is available from thigh, to arm, to toe. Please contact us for further details or a quotation

Q. Can I try the system before lease/ purchase?
A. Absolutely! Please contact your nearest sales team who will be delighted to make the arrangements.

Moor Instruments manufacture a wide range of probes designed to help you assess flow from almost any tissue. We are more than happy to advise on your particular application but hope too that the following general notes are useful.

Skin probes are available with two main fibre configurations, twin or multi-fibre designs. Multi fibre designs usually contain a ring of up to eight collecting fibres around a central delivery fibre. This provides an averaged signal for a larger tissue area than would otherwise be provided by the conventional twin fibre model.

Skin probes are usually fixed to the skin with a probe holder and double sided adhesive discs, although they can be used in other applications (e.g. bone, visceral measurements) and with other equipment (e.g. Iontophoresis). Please refer to the Accessories and Iontophoresis catalogues.

moorVMS-VASC users can specify combined laser Doppler and temperature probes.

The standard length for all probes is 2 metres. Longer lengths can be supplied on request (code PXL). The range of probe holders for these (and other) probes is described in the accessories page.

Low profile designs are either used where access is difficult (e.g. oral mucosa) or to reduce application pressure if the probe is to be covered by bandages. Various designs are available, including the titanium disc probe and the near flat silicon probe.
