This section lists the more common questions our customers have about the moorLDLS™ system. If you have a question you would like answered that does not appear below then please email us. We are happy to help!
Q. What is the penetration depth of moorLDLS™?
A. The penetration will depend to some extent on the optical properties of the tissue sampled. The measurement depth is equivalent to conventional single beam imagers so will include components from the superficial, nutritive layers as well as some influence from deeper and larger vessels.
Q. What is the largest area you can image with moorLDLS™?
A. The image area is dependent on the scan area selected as well as the distance from the scan head to the tissue. This allows the study of areas up to 20cm x 15cm.
Q. How often should the moorLDLS™ be calibrated?
A. The moorLDLS™ is factory calibrated. A user calibration kit is provided to enable checking of calibration and recalibration if necessary. It is good practice to check this routinely throughout an extended research period.
Q. How can I assess dynamic responses with moorLDLS™?
A. The moorLDLS™ is used in the same way as a conventional laser Doppler imager - changes from a baseline are commonly assessed. Measurement modes include single image (to assess variations within the same image), repeat image (to assess changes over extended periods) and continuous 64 channel single point assessments.
