PRM2 FAQs

This section lists the more common questions our customers have about the PRM2™ system. If you have a question you would like answered that does not appear below then please email us. We are happy to help!

Q. Which probes do I choose for this system?

A. The two most commonly used probes are the DP1T-V2 (with PH1-V2 probe holders) and the DP11sc flat probe. The DP1T-V2 probe is used for toe and limb pressure assessments and for post occlusive reactive hyperaemia assessments (the soft probe holder conforms nicely to digits/ toes). The DP11sc is designed for use under the pressure cuff so is suitable for skin perfusion pressure assessments. If you are not sure which probe to pick then we would be happy to advise.

Q. How easy is it to use this system?

A. We have designed the software and hardware to be as easy to use as possible. Simple set up screens are available to allow set up of each measurement protocol and the measurement itself is automated by the PRM2 using an internal inflation pump. Report generation is available to simplify the analysis.

Q. I have heard that rapid deflation enhances the hyperaemic response?

A. Yes - that is true. For situations where rapid deflation is required there is a manual dump valve which releases to atmospheric pressure in around 2/10ths of a second.

Can I use the SH02 or MIC2 in conjunction with the PRM2?

A. Unfortunately the PRM2 is unable to control the MIC2 or SH02 due to system limations. However, both MIC2 and SH02 can be used in stand alone mode with the PRM2
