Brain

Microvascular blood flow in the brain can be investigated using either laser Doppler monitoring, or laser Doppler imaging, depending upon your specific application. Superficial blood flow in the cortex, for example, can be monitored using the moorVMS-LDF in combination with probe (VP3 or VP10M200ST master / single fibre probe kit).

The following items are offered as a complete kit for cerebral blood flow monitoring (ask use for details on when to use this). The kit uses probes (master - VP10M200ST and single fibre - P10d) held in contact with the exposed skull with a button type probe holder. The holder is superglued to the skull with a small smear of optical matching gel protecting the fibre tip.

Kits are available for any Moor laser Doppler monitor:

1 x Master probe (VP10M200ST).
1 x PCN optic coupler
1 x PCP in line connector
10 metres of POF 500 micron plastic fibre
1 x PMG optical matching gel
5 x CBF acetal button fibre holders.

The kit allows the study of global or focal ischaemia models commonly used for stroke research.
